This weekend I designed a game for Shakespeare & Company Bookshop, Paris.
I invited writers including (in chronological order) Alexander Chee, Ian Patterson, Alex Preston, Lauren Elkin, Seb Emina, Tony White, Jean Hannah Edelstein, Jenni Fagan, Christiana Spens, and James Hopkin, plus friends of the bookshop on Twitter and Facebook to contribute a short five-line or paragraph story.
Each story was printed onto a different colour paper, cut into five parts, and hidden inside books around Shakespeare & Company. Readers collected five strips of the same colour paper to reassemble into a story in any order they saw fit.
"Ideally a book would have no order in it, and the reader would have to discover his own." Raoul Vaneigem
Here are some photos from the weekend...
Thank you to everyone who took part.
