I drew this invite for Hackney Hear Plus 1 which took place yesterday. It involved going up to a complete stranger in London Fields and asking him/her to share Hackney Hear's audio app...
...a slightly terrifying prospect perhaps. But I didn't find out as I couldn't go. If anyone reading this took part, how was it?

Sounds of London Fields? I recall a band who used to play the Pub on the Park (as I believe it now is, unless they changed the name again). They were called the Ruthless Blues - rapidly translated, naturally, into the Toothless Blues. Their lead singer was initially described to me as "a dwarf who might have been in the Yardbirds" (I think he actually was). He was certainly well under five foot, and had Bill Bailey's hairstyle back when Bill Bailey himself probably still had hair. They weren't young, they weren't pretty, but they were "right good", and they did the meanest mash-up of "the Pink Panther" and "Peter Gunn" you've ever heard. Every week we Anthropology students used to roll up for a Boogie - the dancing may have been cringingly bad, but executed with great enthusiasm... happy days.
