I wouldn't "dress up" to travel, but I do think it's important to feel good in what you're wearing wherever you go! While living in Paris this was definitely something that stuck out to me. In the American Midwest, people do not put any thought into what they are wearing for travel, which probably makes people "comfortable" but it makes the whole atmosphere less special.

I'm increasingly interested in what people say when they mean 'comfort': some people insist their high heels are comfortable. I'm not sure I'd go that far but I wouldn't feel at all 'comfortable' travelling in 'leisure wear'...
