Hurray for charcoal! In my opinion, so very much easier to wear than black opaques! I feel so ... loud in black opaque tights. As if I'm shouting, "Look at me"!!! Charcoal seems so much more subtle and keeps my legs warm just as well.

You sure songs about ripe cherries are appropriate for spring? And blackbirds have bright yellow beaks!
But our middle lad is in China trying to revolutionise the tights industry (with scant capital) so news of Parisian trends in tights design is very welcome.More please!

I'm sure you already know that Le Temps des Cerises was the song of the Paris Commune, whose powerbase was Montmartre, which existed in Spring (from March to May) 1871 and is currently celebrating (if that's the right word) its 140th anniverasary.

If you'd like hour by hour updates of what was happening on both sides, it's well worth looking up Alex Butterworth's Commune project on Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/TheCommunards and http://twitter.com/#!/TheVersaillais

(and, yes, I should have coloured the beak yellow - well spotted)

DBC Reed

No I did n't know that about the song. Many thanks.
All tights' updates gratefully accepted

DBC Reed

Not sure I'm so grateful for
info on le Temps des Cerises now. Can't get the song out of my head.

Sorry 'bout that. It is catchy, isn't it? If you have Spotify, here's a playlist of various versions to extend the range of your irritability http://open.spotify.com/user/badaude/playlist/6Gcle3S6eAM1FzOrs1cbVV
