More from Shakespeare and Company's first music night.
The bookshop's a small venue and we're packed in with a load more people on the pavement outside. As illustrator I'm lucky to have a reserved cushion right at the front (with a great view of the performers' shoes). Down here at the epicentre, there's a spellbinding calm as the melancholy love songs mix with the dreams, memories and regrets of the audience...
More from Shakespeare and Company tomorrow.

just wanted to say your sketches and your blog all around is very charming and witty! really enjoy reading the commentary that goes along with each entry.

Thanks, I like yours too, especially the texture of the fur coat on your header.

It was your illustration work that drew me in to your blog, but you are no slouch as a writer. You just blew me away with "there's a spellbinding calm as the melencholy love songs mix with the dreams, memories, and regrets of the audience". Now THAT deserves to be it's own whole song!

The cats are doing VERY well! They have spent the whole day pleasantly napping, and are getting ready to resume napping this evening!
