La Badaude's use of literary and references is informative . It is worth studying Ford Madox Brown's painting of Last of England for clues : the painting communicates a poweful mixture/conflict of emotions.Not as upsetting as LB's quotes from In Memoriam which had me rushing to the snug in my reindeer antlers needing sloe gin.
