I and the Norm

'Touched by greatness!' is what I thought, rather vainly, when Norman Geras asked me to write a book review for his rather well-known blog.

He's a one-man political and literary salon who can write about anything, from communism to chicken tikka, and make it interesting.

I'll be joining the likes of Julie Birchill, Linda Grant, Susan Hill, and Minette Walters, amongst many others I admire who have been commissioned by him.

Thing is, I found I couldn't really write without putting pictures in too...
