What I did on my holidays, part I...

Postcard1post_2

St-Jacut-de-la-Mer is really Hampstead-on-sea or whatever is the French equivalant. Full of extraordinarily healthy-looking people with immaculately turned-out (and behaved) children who are all compelled by some local byelaw to wear stripy Breton tops. These are the (mainly French) tourists. At the Friday morning market you can see the locals who look reassuringly ordinary.

An odd exeption is Le Buveur de Lune, a restaurant which breaks every interior style rule from rag-rolled walls to the owner who wants to be a dj (just check out typography on their website). They serve fantastic crepes and seafood. We ordered the seafood special for two people which has to have 24-hour advance notification...

Great blog you have here....love the illustraions. What kind of pens are you using?

Great blog yourself! I favour cheap disposable pilot pens for sketching, preferably the finer 0.4 tip. However my final drawings are done with a Wacom tablet at the computer which is how I get all the pretty colours...
